Heidelberg was the prettiest town from all over I’ve been in Germany. It is a university town situated on River Neckar, south-west Germany.
The inner city is surrounded by mountains, as you can see in the pictures below, which gives a unique climate and an adorable atmosphere.
Up on the hill is Heidelberg Castle built in the XVI century, you can walk around in between the ruins and have a birds view of the town. Amazing.
“Heidelberg University played a leading part in the era of humanism and the Reformation, and the conflict between Lutheranism and Calvinism, in the 15th and 16th centuries. Heidelberg’s library, founded in 1421, is the oldest existing public library in Germany. In April 1518, a few months after proclaiming his 95 Theses, Martin Luther was received in Heidelberg, to defend them.
